Pediatric infectious diseases

Children are more prone to infectious diseases, because they will be in contact with all the possible things. Proper care must be taken to prevent them from getting infected with a variety of infections. Infectious diseases annually claim about 14 million lives i.e. 25% of the more or less 56 million deaths which are recorded worldwide. The recent trends of pediatrics have achieved exceptional advances in reductions in childhood mortality.

Pediatric nurses should be trained in such a manner that they could analyze situations to anticipate pathophysiological problems and detect change in status. They should be trained in identifying changes in a child’s signs and symptoms and provide supportive care to them and their family
