Pediatric cardiology

A cardiologist is a doctor with special training and skill in finding, treating and preventing diseases of the heart and blood vessels. Pediatric cardiac nurses offer specialized nursing care of infants, children and adults with cardiac and congenital heart disease. They are highly invested in their role as patient and family educators.

Heart disease was the cause of one in every four deaths killing more than 600,000 people per year. Therefore, cardiac nurses are important in the fight against heart disease and are needed not merely to care for patients, but also to promote healthy life style choices. They play a pivotal role in the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of heart disease, heart attacks, and other cardio vascular health issues.
